Ken Hada is a poet and professor at East Central University where he directs the annual Scissortail Creative Writing Festival. Raised in the rural Ozarks, with close ties to his Hungarian ancestors in the gypsum hills of northwest Oklahoma, he finds the natural order a powerful presence for writing. His work has been featured four times on The Writer’s Almanac, winner of the Western Heritage Award and finalist for the Spur Award and Oklahoma book awards. His six published books include Persimmon Sunday, Spare Parts, Margaritas & Redfish, The Way of the Wind and The River White: A Confluence of Brush & Quill. A popular reader of his work at venues around the country, Ken also helps to edit the journal All Roads Will Lead You Home.
